In order to reinstate your driver's license in the state of Texas, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) requires that you have SR22 Texas Insurance. Because rates vary greatly amongst carriers, it is very important to shop around thoroughly for SR22 Insurance. Rates in the metropolitan areas of Texas are higher than rates in the rural areas. Expect to pay more if you live in Houston, San Antonio or Dallas as opposed to if you live in Waco or Tyler. Getting SR22 Texas Insurance and reinstating your driver's license will get you legally back on the road.
